“Jardh” means roots in Sanskrit — a reminder that real change begins beneath the surface. In India, where 40-50% of the population depends on agriculture, water scarcity has pushed farmers to the brink of despair. Wells are drying, crops are failing, and livelihoods are hanging by a thread. Over-extraction of groundwater, erratic rainfall, and climate change have led to severe droughts, resulting in failed crops and mounting debt.
How can a nation thrive if its lifeline—water—is vanishing?
PROJECT
To strengthen the roots of India’s agricultural communities by reviving traditional water systems, restoring groundwater, and ensuring every farmer has access to reliable water for generations to come.
